Ariane
Giraneza

Ariane is a Senior Associate in the EU policy team at Global Counsel. She has over five years of experience in an array of policy environments. She interned at the Belgian embassy to the United States in Washington DC during the TTIP negotiations and the Brussels economic think tank Bruegel. Before starting at GC, Ariane has worked at the Belgian Federal parliament, the Dutch embassy to Belgium in Brussels and at the Cabinet of the Belgian federal Minister of Energy Tinne Van der Straeten.
At GC, Ariane advises clients on policy, regulatory and political developments at the EU level and across member states, with a particular focus on the Netherlands, Belgium and France. She also supports different practices in their development of the EU and member states perspective on policy developments.
Previous examples of her work include:
- Providing workshops on the European Commission's legislative agenda and the political developments surrounding this for a number of clients.
- Mapping out the risks and opportunities of the Dutch tax avoidance agenda and how this agenda relates to the international OECD efforts (BEPS) for an investor.
- Designing a Brussels focused advocacy strategy on sustainability for a corporate client.
