Joe-Palombo

Joe is the Senior Practice Director for global investor services. He has nearly 15 years of experience advising international institutional investors and policymakers. Before joining Global Counsel, Joe was an American economic diplomat posted in Kigali, Hong Kong and Mexico City, where he advised US policymakers and US business leaders on macroeconomic and finance policy. Early in his career, Joe ran investor relations and product development for a global macro hedge fund in London, where he raised $1.1 bn to launch a dynamic currency hedging programme.  

At GC, Joe works with family offices, sovereign wealth, private equity and hedge funds to help them understand and mitigate policy, political and regulatory risk at both the portfolio and transaction level. 

Recent examples of his work include: 

  • Advising a private equity major on geopolitical and policy risk within the supply chain of a global bicycle manufacturer. 
  • Assessing no-deal Brexit and Labour policy risks and opportunities for a $200 bn sovereign wealth fund.
  • Providing thought leadership, engagement strategy and transaction support to a multi-billion-dollar family office.
