Matthew is a Director in the Financial Services practice at Global Counsel. Matthew has spent nearly 30 years working in public and regulatory policy. Before joining Global Counsel, he was a managing director at FTI Consulting, advising clients on the UK regulatory environment for financial services. He previously headed public affairs, strategy and policy at trade association UK Finance and before that, group regulatory policy at Lloyds Banking Group. He began his career as a civil servant, working in a range of UK government departments including HM Treasury, before becoming a director at Ofcom and working as a policy consultant at the Financial Conduct Authority.

At Global Counsel, he plays an integral role in the leadership and expansion of our Financial Services practice and helps clients anticipate, navigate and adapt to the challenging UK political and regulatory landscape.
