Global Counsel Germany launches in Berlin
- Bernstein Group and Global Counsel establish joint venture in Germany
- New German offer adds capability to support clients in Europe’s largest economy
- Bernstein Group strengthens its geopolitical and international policy services
Global Counsel, a leading strategic advisory firm providing integrated consultancy services to clients working with policy change, and the Bernstein Group, a leading strategic communications and public policy consultancy in Germany, today announced the launch of Global Counsel Germany.
Global Counsel Germany will support investors, multinational firms and innovative early-stage companies seeking to understand and anticipate political and policy trends in Germany, as well as Germany’s position in EU and international negotiations. The team will provide insights and practical support for engaging with political and institutional stakeholders at global, national and local levels.
As a joint venture Global Counsel Germany combines the expertise of Global Counsel and Bernstein Group, leveraging a global network of consultants based in Brussels, London, Washington DC, Singapore, Doha, Munich and Frankfurt. The partnership will further benefit from the insights and strategic perspective of Global Counsel’s International Advisory Board chaired by Peter Mandelson, co-founder and President of Global Counsel, as well as former EU trade commissioner, on the ever-evolving geopolitical landscape and impact on global businesses and supply chains.
Mohamed Hamzé will lead the Berlin office as Managing Director for Global Counsel Germany in addition to his role at Bernstein Group as Managing Partner. Tom White, who leads Global Counsel’s Europe team in Brussels, will provide strategic oversight of the new team’s services and integration with wider Global Counsel operations.
Mohamed Hamzé said:
"Establishing the partnership with Global Counsel in Germany is a great step forward for the Bernstein Group. It will allow us to complement our existing services for clients alongside identifying routes to expand our offer to new partners. Germany sits in the heart of Europe in every sense of the word and is home to thousands of companies with a global footprint that need to adapt to a rapidly changing world economy. With our partner GC, we are expanding our scope to the centres of international policymaking.”
Tom White said:
“German interests are crucial in European debates and decision making. A permanent presence in Berlin and Germany will make us even stronger helping clients face unprecedented policy uncertainty, created by both internal and global pressures on Germany’s institutions. This investment will mean we can meet increasing demand for integrated analysis, risk assessment and engagement advice in Berlin and Brussels with this latest example of our ‘one team’ approach developed across GC’s global business.”
