Matthew is GC’s senior adviser on health and life sciences. Matthew has had an impressive career in both the UK’s NHS, where he was Chief Executive of an acute hospital and cancer centre and Deputy Chief Executive of the NHS in England; and at the Department of Health where he was Senior Policy Adviser to the Secretary of State, as well as having worked globally as a Senior Vice President for a market leading healthcare IT company.

Matthew is currently the Chair of the North West London Acute Provider Collaborative, incorporating Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust.  He is also the national Chair of Citizens Advice. 

At Global Counsel, Matthew supports clients in health tech and pharmaceuticals and advises clients in adjacent sectors including social care and medical devices.
