Wheeler

Tom is a recognized expert in telecommunications and technology policy with a distinguished career in the private and public sector. As an entrepreneur, he started or helped start multiple companies offering innovative cable, wireless and video communications services. More recently, he served in the highest levels of US government, where as Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from 2013 to 2017 he led agency efforts related to net neutrality, consumer privacy, and cybersecurity.
As a Senior Adviser to Global Counsel’s growing portfolio of corporate and investor services work in technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), his experience and leadership brings distinctive insights and advice to clients exposed to growing competition and evolving regulatory frameworks in the digital age.
Presently, he is also a Visiting Fellow at the Brookings Institution and a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School.
