Emma advises clients where health policy is a factor in commercial planning. She leverages works closely with our technology, trade and sustainability teams to provide holistic support to clients.
Emma is the Practice Director for the Health & Life Sciences Practice. Emma has a range of experience, working in both the public and private sectors. She has extensive experience of the EU and international health policy and access environment, as well as European and global market and patient access campaigns, having worked in-house for Genzyme and Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (Sobi). She has a good understanding of the horizontal nature of health policy, including the link to trade and sustainability. Emma started her Brussels career as European Parliamentary Assistant to Michael Cashman MEP.
At Global Counsel, Emma leads teams advising clients where health policy is a factor in commercial planning. She leverages insights from several GC teams, including technology, trade and sustainability to provide holistic support to clients.
Recent examples of her work include:
- Producing a sell-side report for a client involved in UK NHS staffing procurement outlining the current and projected policy and regulatory environment surrounding the business
- Conducting a detailed research and political risk report examining recent developments in multilateral health policy, including the 12th Annual World Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial Conference and the initial summits of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and its pandemic instrument.
