Giorgio is a Senior Associate in the energy practice based in Brussels. Prior to joining Global Counsel, Giorgio was responsible for European Affairs at a leading global commodity exchange where he devised and executed public affairs strategies to shape the regulatory environment for power, gas and carbon trading. He also led the innovation hub of the company, organising and carrying on efforts to roll out agile methodologies to create a better and more effective working environment. 

Earlier on, Giorgio worked with the top European renewable energy trade association, where he was responsible for power market business intelligence products and managed stakeholders across 30 European countries.

Giorgio has studied economics and political science in Italy and Spain, and holds an executive MBA from a top business school in Belgium.

At GC Giorgio advises clients across industries on energy and climate policies, making sense of the business impact of political and regulatory dynamics and supporting the design of corporate strategies that best exploit politics shifts.

Recent examples of his work include:

  • Advising energy clients on how to best position their business in the context of the Green Deal, to shape legislation and align their corporate strategy to the policy discourse.  
  • Supporting a major energy trader to enter the global emission trading market by providing an overview of the competitive landscape and strategic competitive edges of market participants. 
  • Advising investors planning to enter the European energy and manufacturing markets with regulatory and policy considerations affecting the profitability of the overall industry and specific target assets.
